A Holy Month

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and the holy month of fasting. It begins and
ends with the appearance of a new moon(helal). The predawn meal is referred to as (suhur) and the
nightly feast that breaks the fast is called (iftar).Allah has obligated Ramadan, the month of good, to
feel the poor and be thankful for everything God has given us and be helpful, because eventually islam is brotherhood and nobody is left behind. Although Ramadan is a good chance for many good things not everybody realizes it’s worth and significance. To begin with,Ramadan is a good chance to reunite families and loved ones, to bond with the community around you and maybe even start new relations. It’s a month of forgiveness and kindness. Moreover, people like to decorate to express their happiness, spread the love and share gifts with family and friends. It’s a month of where you can feel the joy and happiness in the atmosphere, peace and love is covering every Muslim’s heart. However, Ramadan is also a good chance to discipline your self physically and morally. Studies have shown that fasting promotes “longevity”,in other words people who fast live longer than the one’s who don’t. Also It improves insulin sensitivity and immune system, and brain function. Besides all the physical benefits fasting gives you, also it teaches you patience and kindness, respect and grace, mercy and initiative.Indeed, Ramadan is a graceful month Allah has blessed us with it shows us among the years that there is still good in people.
