  Although technology can improve people’s lives, it also has the potential to negatively affect it in several aspects. The most extensive effect is that technology impacts physical health. For example, due to the long state of not moving while using technical devices; smartphones and laptops, many long-lasting diseases like obesity strikes the human body. Moreover, it causes digital eye strain that includes symptoms such as blurred vision, dry eyes, and headaches. Subsequently, many people face sleep problems as a result of using smartphones before sleeping. Studies have shown that the brain delays the body’s internal clock which suppresses the release of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin, and makes it more difficult to fall asleep. Furthermore, many become addicted to social media to the point that they neglect their sleeping time. Finally, technology gradually decline students’ educational levels. Wasting time in the internet and social media instead of studying would lead to failure in school. Some students misuse technology which affects the learning process negatively. Plagiarism and cheating increased while analysis and critical thinking declined. In conclusion, technology affects physical health and causes sleep problems as well as decline of educational levels and skills. Since technology is a weapon with two sides, a person must wisely use it to ensure his or her health. He or she could limit the usage for a certain time and replace technology with other useful hobbies. People must be aware of the danger of the misusage of technology causes.
